A special event of the NY Comics & Picture-story Symposium will be held on Wednesday,  April 25, 2018 at 7pm at The New School, 66 West 12th Street, Room A 407.  Free and open to the public.
 The Animated Life – Films by Jeff Scher
Scher will present an assortment of his short films and talk about his process, techniques and opportunities for the independent animator.
Jeff Scher is an independent, experimental animator, painter and filmmaker. His work has appeared in the New York Times, on HBO, Showtime, PBS, NBC, The New Yorker (tv), Nickelodeon and  is in the permanent collections of The Museum Of Modern Art, the Centre Pompidou, the Academy Film Archives, The Harvard Film Archives, The Filmarchive Austria and the Cinematheque Francaise. His films have appeared at many film festivals including opening night at The New York Film Festival. He’s had retrospectives at the Ottawa International Film Festival, the Ann Arbor Film Festival and the Museum of Modern Art. He has made many music videos for artists including Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Joan Baez. He recently made animation for the HBO documentary The Number On Great Grandfather’s Arm which premiered in January and is running through the end of April at the Museum Of Jewish Heritage along with an exhibit of some 400 of the drawings made for the film.
