The fifty-fourth meeting of the NY Comics & Picture-story Symposium will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Parsons The New School, 2 West 13th Street, in the Bark Room (off the lobby). Free and open to the public. Facilitator: Bob Sikoryak.

Scheduled Presentation: Nathan Bulmer and Connie Sun are New York cartoonists who both draw a daily web comic strip. That is where the similarities end. Beyond this, they have completely different approaches and styles to daily comics and are, in fact, bitter adversaries.
Come join them for the 54th meeting of the NY Comics & Picture-Story Symposium where they will talk about making comics, interrogate each other, and battle for domination (Or crack some jokes and giggle a lot. Either way, it will be fun!)

Nathan Bulmer is the man responsible for the daily web comic Eat More Bikes. His comics have been featured in/on MAD Magazine, The Comics Journal, BoingBoing, Drawn!, Time Out NY, and Foxing Quarterly. He also recently had an honest to goodness comic book published by Koyama Press. He’s pretty happy about that. Comics: eatmorebikes.blogspot.com Twitter: @natemorebikes

Connie Sun is an Asian-American cartoonist from California, currently living in New York City. She works in higher education and draws a daily web comic strip at conniewonnie.com, Monday through Friday. You can follow her on Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr: @dearconnie
